Released in March 1992 and manufactured by Bally Manufacturing Co., The Addams Family pinball machine was designed by renowned pinball designer Pat Lawlor. Based on the 1991 feature film of the same name, the machine quickly achieved unprecedented commercial success, becoming the best-selling pinball machine in history. It sold a total of 20,270 units—surpassing Bally's Eight Ball, which had held the top position since 1977 by a margin of 40 units. An additional 1,000 units were later produced as part of a special edition release.

The machine features custom voice work by the film’s lead actors, Anjelica Huston and Raúl Juliá, enhancing the immersive quality and thematic authenticity of the gameplay.
